On 5 May 2022 the Scottish local council elections are due to take place.

Your polling station will have all the usual Covid protections in place to keep you safe. If you would prefer to vote from home instead you can apply for a postal ballot by 19 April.
Applying For A Postal Vote
To vote by post you must first complete a postal vote application form and return it to the Electoral Registration Office by 5pm on Tuesday 19 April.
You can request the issue of a postal vote application form by contacting our office via: –
- Email – enquiries@lothian-vjb.gov.uk.
- Phone – 0131 344 2500 (During normal office hours).
- Completing a Contact Form on our website.
We will issue your application form by post along with a pre-paid envelope.

Please Note: A completed postal vote application requires your signature. Whilst completed applications can be returned via email as an attachment, it must contain your signature.
